Baseball is Back!

Thursday afternoon, the MLB owners and the MLB Players Association finally came to an agreement on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement in order to officially start the delayed 2022 MLB season.

Opening day will now be April 17th, while mandatory spring training begins on March 13th. All 162 games will be played this year with multiple doubleheader games and a slightly extended season to make up for the lost time due to the work stoppage from a lack of a CBA.

The most notable changes to the MLB include a 12-team postseason, the universal Designated Hitter for both leagues, an increase in the size of bases, and the banning of the “shift.”
