Balmain is slated to host a music festival during Paris Fashion Week, with its Spring 2022 Men’s and Women’s collections as the headliners. Creative director Olivier Rousteing plans to debut his latest iterations in a runway presentation on September 29, closing out a branded, two-day music festival at The Seine Musicale in Paris.
The festival will be free and open to the public on day one (September 28), while day two will offer two tickets to the first 1,200 people who pledge a minimum donation of 15 Euros/$18 to (RED) and the Global Fund, which aid in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Additionally, proceeds from the festival’s limited-edition fashion merchandise and selection of food and drink stands will also be donated to (RED) and the Global Fund.
Rousteing hosted the inaugural Balmain Festival in 2019 in alignment with the Fête de la Musique, an annual “festival of music” that takes place across Paris during the summer solstice. “It is impossible for me to imagine a creative moment or inspiration without thinking of its accompanying music,” Rousteing told WWD, adding that the point of the festival is “to reunite and experience once again the melding together of the beauty of friendship, the power of music and the excitement of a Paris runway.”
Rousteing also said that the brand plans to admit up to 3,400 guests to its music-backed runway presentation. Donation-based tickets for the September 29 event are now available CET on Balmain’s website.
