Everyone wants a Grammy .Did you know that there is a ‘Spoken Word’ Grammy? How about a song that gets in the Hall by virtue of being a song? Well, there are many ways to get into the Grammy Hall of Fame: by Lifetime Achievement, Song, Writing, Performance, Legend, or in the Music Educator category. The Hall was established in 1973, currently run by the Recording Academy.
Here is one of the more unusual songs headed into the 2016 Grammy Hall of Fame…
“For the Love of Money” by the O’Jays was written, but the famous soul song writing machine of Kenneth Gamble, Leon Huff, and Anthony Jackson, was performed by the O’Jays in 1973. The song earned a Grammy nomination and is considered one of the best songs from the O’Jays. The unique sound of the songs open is manufactured by a wah-wah pedal attached to his Fender Precision Bass, running through the board with reverb.
