Next Monday, June 25th will be the ninth anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson unexpectedly passing away June 25th, 2009 due to an accidental overdose of anesthetic propofol and the anxiolytic lorazepam. The combination of drugs prompted a heart attack, one that Michael could not survive.
Here are five things about Michael you may not have known…
Michael is the most celebrated artist of all time; he holds 40 Billboard Awards, 26 American Music Awards, 13 Grammys, and 23 Guinness World Records.
In all of music he’s received the most awards; he’s the most recognized with 40 Billboard Awards, 13 Grammys, 26 American Music Awards and 23 Guinness records.
Michael was the Godfather of Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb’s son Michael, and Lionel Ritchie’s daughter Nicole.
The hit “Billie Jean” was inspired and written by a real-life experience of a fan who claimed Michael was the father of her child. The song also gave Michael another 1st; he became the first African American artist to air on MTV with his music video for the song we just mentioned – “Billie Jean.”
Finally, Michael demanded the entire stage in life, and oddly in death. Can you name the two other Hollywood stars that died so close to Michael’s death, that people barely remember them? Ed McMahon died June 23rd, and Farrah Fawcett died on the same day as Michael, June 25th – sadly both deaths are often forgotten.
