A to Z – Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels

2016 is the year of the Goat for the Chinese calendar, but please don’t be a goat. This upcoming year will also be a leap year, meaning there will be 29 days in February. Let’s leap into 2016 with a new attitude and showcase the most interesting and lesser known artist of our time with a feature we all ‘A to Z.’

Here is the letter ‘R’.

Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels began in the Motor City with William S. Levise, Jr. coming of age, winning a talent contest in high school. “Devil With the Blue Dress,” “Sock It To Me-Baby” and “Too Many Fish in the Sea” all from the late 60s were the band biggest hits. What makes Mitch noteworthy is not his own success, but rather the number and stature of the rockers that have all said that they were heavily influenced by Mitch. Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, John Mellencamp, and Price have all given Mitch his props. Now that’s one impressive list.
