A Look Into How It Started

That Metal Show starring Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine has been cancelled. We updated you on this a few weeks ago, but wanted to give you a back story of the guys and how it all came about years ago.

Jamieson and Florentine are comedians who met a radio DJ named Eddie doing radio guest appearance gigs, and came on the show a few years ago to talk music. The conversation eventually led to an eight year run on the MTV Classic channel, and garnished tons of fans with deep rock talk and heavy metal in-studio guests.

Ted Nugent, Lemmy, Dee Snider, Rob Zombie, Joey and Brad from Aerosmith, and all the members of Metallica have been on the show, giving viewers a real insight into the music and what it must be like to be a rock star on the road.

The host of the show during its run has been Eddie Trunk, a New Jersey native who was on the radio and on the air in New York, hosting the popular radio show Friday Night Rocks and Saturday Night Rocks until the dreaded format change forced him to find another job. Eddie has been an outspoken critic of the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame for its refusal to induct more heavy metal bands. No news on where the show will land, but the trio is still eager to find a television home.
