One of the best parts about visiting the Disney parks is getting off of your favorite ride, heading into your favorite spot, and getting your favorite Mickey Mouse-shaped Disney treat. Since nobody is able to visit the parks right now, the powers-that-be at Disney have shared the food love, and is offering up a way to make on the best mouse-shaped treats out there—Mickey Beignets—at home!
If you’ve never had the pleasure, Disney serves up this delicious, New Orleans-inspired treat at both New Orleans Square in Disneyland and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort in Disney World. Each beignet is pillowy soft, covered in powdered sugar, and made to look like the world’s most famous mouse himself. They look kind of complicated to make, but they really aren’t! You only need nine ingredients (plus some H2O) to make this recipe, which yields ten large Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets or two dozen small beignets.
Big restaurant chains sharing recipes on Instagram, Twitter and via their websites has become a big trend these days, as people still sheltering-in-place look for new ways to spice up their home dining menus. This latest tasty treat from the Magic Kingdom follows on the heels of them sharing Walt’s favorite chili recipe for the folks at home.
You can find the full recipe over on the Disney Parks Blog. Just a note from Disney: This recipe has been converted from a larger quantity in its restaurant kitchens, so the flavor profile may vary from the restaurant’s version. Still….it’s fried dough and sugar. Chances are you won’t be disappointed!
Disney also recommends that you snack on these treats while watching The Princess and The Frog on Disney+ and, well, when in virtual New Orleans…. Time to bring some of that Disneyland food magic into your home!
