Over the past week, the world as we know it has completely changed. COVID-19 has left many of us, including those we follow on Instagram, within the confines of our homes as we practice self-isolation and social distancing. Sure, celebrity street style moments may be few and far between right now, but we’re adjusting to this new normal with a little help from Instagram.
One person to note who has been using social media for a stellar series of PSAs on what to do during this time has been… Naomi Campbell? Yup, the supermodel, or rather, the sanitized queen of quarantine, has been uploading Instagrams of herself in full Contagion gear (as well as some uplifting messages, too). This past week, while wearing an embroidered robe, Campbell posted herself washing her hands in the #SafeHandsChallenge, after she was nominated by Maria Sharapova to do the down-and-dirty scrub. Accessory of choice? Dial soap. A sink signature!
Others getting into the glamorous handwashing moment was the Canadian artist duo Fecal Matter. One half of the pair, Hannah Rose Dalton, stood in a bubblegum pink dress with a horned breastplate, before, well, simply washing her hands.
Other activities to do at home during this time period? Go back to basics and read a book! In New York City, Lou Dallas designer Rafaella Hanley, wearing a dainty crown and a colorful arm sleeve, cracked open a classic: When Corporations Rule the World by David C. Korten. Though if you don’t feel like reading? Take a page from British singer Dua Lipa who simply reclined in a bubble bath. Or tune into watch Lizzo play her flute – it’s music to soothe you in these troubled times!
Right now, it’s all about making the most of the simple pleasures in life.
