Hello, Love, Goodbye explores the story of personal sacrifices and familial relationships interwoven with romance. Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and produced by ABS-CBN Films, this romantic drama tells the story of two young OFWs based in Hong Kong whose aspirations are put to the test after a chance run-in with each other.
The film revolves around the love story between a domestic helper named Joy (Bernardo) and a bartender called Ethan (Richards). After leaving her home country, Joy came to Hong Kong to earn a living to support her family and eventually pursue her dream of going to Canada. After a series of unexpected circumstances, Joy meets Ethan, a playboy and also an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who plans to settle down in Hong Kong. As their relationship develops, they are faced with a decision between staying together for each other or grab the opportunity to pursue their individual dreams.
Hello, Love, Goodbye is top-billed by two of the Philippines’ youngest superstars. Joy is played by 23-year-old Kathryn Bernardo. An actress since 2003, Kathryn has starred in several multi-awarded television series and box-office hits that have earned her accolades such as the Golden Jury Award for Highest Grossing Filipino Film of All Time at the 50th Guillermo Mendoza Awards and the prestigious Camera Obscura Award from the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
Joining Kathryn for the first time on screen is Alden Richards, the Filipinos’ “Pambansang Bae” who rose to fame in 2015 as a member of the afternoon variety show Eat Bulaga. These days, the 27-year-old actor is garnering international recognition. He recently earned a silver medal in the docudrama category of the New York Festivals television and film awards for his portrayal as Bonifacio Ilagan, in Alaala: A Martial Law Special, and most recently the Asian Star Prize at this year’s Seoul International Drama Awards.
Since its premiere in the Philippines, Hello Love Goodbye has reaped success on local and international cinemas. With a reported USD 17,005,774.30 worldwide earnings, the Cathy Garcia-Molina film is now the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time.
Hello, Love, Goodbye premiered on September 26 in the following theaters across Myanmar: JCGV Square, JCGV Mawtin, JCGV Mandalay, JCGV Mawlamyine, JCGV Ottara Thiri, JCGV Junction City, JCGV City Mall.
