Halsey has been teasing her fans with new music since the release of her smash hit 2017 record Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. In a new series of tweets, Halsey finally gave her fans some more definitive answers.
On Monday night, March 25, Halsey took the opportunity to thank her fans for being patient with her, saying that she understands why they want new music soon. The singer also retweeted a fan who had asked her if her new album would come out this year, and replied with a simple “yes.”
“I know you guys are anxious for new music and new memories,” she wrote. “For touring and traveling with your friends. For events and pop ups and meeting new people. For music video screenshots. For group chats and late night. Thank you for being patient with me. I want it to be perfect.”
She added that her new album deals with forgiving and accepting herself and her own flaws, and said she hoped she could help her fans deal with their own struggles through her music. “I hope when it’s finally in your hands it brings you that same peace,” she wrote. “It’s not a quiet peace. It’s a loud one.”
