Have You Seen Jennifer Garner’s “Pretend Cooking Show” Yet?

Jennifer Garner is a well-known and highly respected actress, but who knew she’d become an internet sensation for…cooking?  Since last December, Garner has been sharing her favorite family recipes and cooking videos on Facebook and Instagram for fans and friends to watch, and believe me, it’s almost like you are sitting on a stool in her kitchen hanging out with your bestie watching her cook.

“Pretend Cooking Show” has gained a following for good reason: It’s a refreshingly authentic look into the life of a celebrity. She seems just like you, or someone you would want to be friends with, whipping up her favorite recipes in her own kitchen and clearly enjoying herself. She doesn’t pretend to be a cooking expert — just a mom trying her best to make good food for her family. Feel that?  It’s a breath of fresh air.

From bagels to nut free granola bars, to the “best chocolate sheet cake ever,” Garner whips ‘em up in a super casual, approachable way, usually sporting her reading glasses, and sometimes even wearing her PJ’s.  It’s a mystery why Garner’s calling this a “pretend” cooking show because not only does she have actual cooking skills, she’s also the most pleasant kitchen tutor possible. She’s not threatening or overly serious or glossing over the fact that she’s a busy mom working her baking fun in between kid bedtimes. She’s real as heck, and that’s what makes her so lovable.

And one of Garner’s cooking mentors and best pals, Ina Garten clearly thinks so, too, giving the “Pretend Cooking Show” its own segment on Garten’s 2018 Thanksgiving Special.  Here’s hoping that Garner’s “pretend” cooking show gets an actual TV spot of its very own, soon.
