Colt McCoy suffers broken leg, out for duration of season

Colt McCoy suffered a brutal fracture to his right fibula during the second quarter of the Redskins’ 28-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to coach Jay Gruden. McCoy is scheduled to undergo further testing today, but is more than likely expected to be out for the rest of the season. McCoy somehow managed to limp into the locker room and was ruled out by the team before the second half began.

“This is a tough blow,” Gruden said. “Losing Alex is one thing — he’s a great leader, a great quarterback, put a lot of time into him. And then Colt finally gets his golden opportunity, and he gets kicked in the leg and breaks it. So, heartbroken for both those guys, really.”
