Turn Heads This Winter

As far as winter accessories go, very few things are as practical as a hat, but we do not live in a day where we must sacrifice fashion for function. There is a hat for every season, and the new fall and winter seasons will be packed with options thanks to designers committing to keeping every head warm and adorned.

For the unknowing, a hat could just be a hat but for those in love with fashion, the resurgence of options like the cloche and pillbox and the interesting avenues taken with lace, veils, logos, jewels and beads will do much more than keep your head warm and shielded. And updates on classic baseball caps and cowboy hats might have you rethinking whether or not they are for you. All the fall/winter 2018 hat trends are sure to reinvigorate your wardrobe as there seems to be something to suit everyone’s style as we dress for a season where many can begin to get lost in their layers.

Beanies are a cold-weather classic, so it is no surprise to see new fashionable options hit the runway and already gain status as a fall/ winter 2018 hat trend. Of all the fall 2018 headwear trends, this is the most must have, and the most functional for the upcoming cold seasons, and it comes in the most varied of options.

Headscarves will always be on trend, but the materials and aesthetics may change. The mood for headscarves in the fall 2018 hat trends seems to be ornate, with different and intricate designs adorning each one.

Independent Hoods were a surprise on several runways in different materials, pins and more. Some were in leopard print, others in a solid color like silver, but they seemed very convenient and an interesting stylish option to carry around in case of a late fall shower and, of course, to protect from unexpected snow flurries.

Newsboy Caps have always had a certain appeal to them that has begun to run rampant as one of the upcoming fall/ winter 2018-2019 hat trends. This style of hat is also known as a Gatsby cap and features another version with a button on top and a flatter upper form.

Fedoras can make their fashion mark on every season. Thankfully, the fall/ winter 2018-2019 hat trends include fedoras thanks to options like Dolce & Gabbana’s label-embellished fedora. Michael Kors played with fedora styles as well as different patterns on each.

Berets stand firm as one of the hottest fall/ winter 2018-2019 hat trends, but this time around we see both military and French berets in a number of styles and interesting design interpretations.

Bucket Hats were sent down the runway done up in various bold colors, designs and materials, including crystals from Dolce & Gabbana and plaids from Lacoste.

Winter means lots of Faux Fluffy Fur used for outerwear, bags, and ultimately cozy headwear to keep you warm. The fall 2018 hat trends don’t lack fur either, mostly going bold utilizing bright colors, patterns or shaggy finishes.

Turbans can be worn as favorite hair accessories, and then there are also fantastic new turban hats for 2018. Turbans can give an eclectic glam jolt to any look, be that an evening number like in the case of Saint Laurent or a casual fall outfit.
