Sara Bareilles heated up The Late Show with the strength-filled “Armor” off her forthcoming album on Wednesday night, November 28th. The ladies first anthem was fittingly backed by an all-female band.
The 38-year-old singer-songwriter led with a piano on a set bathed in purple light, her soulful voice embarking on a narrative journey in a minor key: “Let it begin, let Adam in/ Step one: original sin/ Underneath the leaves, Adam found Eve/ Both of them found something sweet under the apple tree/ Then it was over, roads divide,” she sang on the track that revisits the Garden of Eden and asks how Eve ended up with “all the damn blame?” Watch the powerful performance here.
