40 years ago, if you had bought $10,000 in any tech or communications stock, you would be so rich you probably have retired a long time ago. Four decades ago, the best album to have invested in also appears to be our favorite LPs today.
Van Halen’s self-entitled LP from 1978, their debut album, contained the singles “You Really Got Me” “Runnign With the Devil” and “Ain’t Talking Bout Love” which put them on the map.
Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’ LP was a departure from the early Bruce, providing “Badlands” “The Promised Land” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town” the single. This was not one of Bruce’s best efforts, but fans seemed to like his authenticity.
The Rolling Stones ‘Some Girls’ Bob Seger’s ‘Stranger in Town’ ‘Excitable Boy’ from Warren Zevon, ‘Who are You’ from the Who, and the Cars debut LP are turn 40 this year.
