Towards the end of the month Melissa McCarthy will star in a different kind of film, one that combines animation and real-life footage, in a film called ‘The Happytime Murders’ a movie about an ’80s children’s TV show where the stars are murdered one by one. Sure enough, Melissa a onetime LAPD rising star who was fired from the force, turned private detective, handles the case.
Melissa grew up in small-town Illinois, was a cheerleader in High School, graduated from Southern Illinois, trained at The Actor’s Studio, and as you may know, Melissia is a first cousin of former playmate model and MTV star Jenny McCarthy, getting her start in stand-up comedy before blossoming as an actress. Although she was paid only $2.5 million for the film ‘Heat’ with Sandra Bullock, she typically makes over $30 million each year. She did receive and Oscar nomination for her work on ‘Bridesmaids.’
In 2018, she has or will appear in ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me’ ‘The Happytime Murders’ with ‘The Kitchen’ and ‘Superintelligence’ scheduled for release in 2019.
