Bob Seger’s ill-fated 2017 tour is about to begin again in Kansas City this November, so let’s go back in time and share a few Bob Seger fun facts…
Bob’s dad walked out on his family when Bob was 10, which was a defining moment for Bob and his family, one that would influence him the rest of his life. In the early days, the late Glenn Frey joined Bob in the studio to add background vocals to his early singles.
Bob actually quit the music business in the early 60s and enrolled in college after his LP “Noah” bombed. Did you know that Bob’s “Old Time Rock and Roll,” is the second most played Jukebox single of all-time behind Patsy Cline’s “Crazy?”
Bob’s 80s hit “Shakedown,” was co-written by Seger, a song that was originally written for Glenn Frey in the “Beverly Hills Cop II” soundtrack. Glenn lost his voice, so he asked Bob to record the song. The song earned an Oscar nomination in the ‘Best Original Song’ category.
