Streisand Signs Netflix Deal, Re-Releases ‘Star is Born’

If you think about it, there were about 25 years where Barbra Streisand ruled the airwaves, stage and music charts. Now Barbra Streisand is about to finalize a wonderful business relationship with the Netflix platform, beginning with the Netflix concert documentary ‘The Music…The Memories, The Magic’ then a release of six vintage music specials and an expanded edition of 1976’s “A Star is Born.”

The agreement between Barbra and Netflix will cover her TV specials ‘My Name Is Barbra’ and ‘Color Me Barbra’ and ‘A Happening in Central Park from the 60s, and ‘Barbra Streisand and Other Musical Instruments’ from the 70s.’ Perhaps the biggest plum in the deal is that Netflix will air a new personal edit of her Oscar-winning film ‘A Star Is Born’ from 1976. In the new Netflix release, a scene with our star and Paul Williams talking about the song “Evergreen” is back in the film; sadly cut from the version released in 1976.
