Natalie Portman on the Silver Screen This Weekend

Natalie Portman stars in a documentary about an issue that most American’s don’t think twice about. The eating habits of our fellow citizens and how it affects animals. The film ‘Eating Animals’ pulls back the curtain on the food industry, and how little we value animals in general. The film might see like a departure for Natalie an established Hollywood star, but frankly, she’s been traveling to the beat of different drummer her whole life.

A few years ago, Natalie made her debut as a director, working on the film “A Tale of Love and Darkness,” based on the novel with the same name written by Amos Oz. Her biggest contributions to the industry have been her roles in ‘Black Swan’ and her many appearances in the Star Wars franchise movies.

Although her greatest role may be her adaptation of a young child in the film ‘Leon: The Professional’ in 1994 opposite Jean Reno, we never saw her in “Little Women.” The reason is simple; she auditioned for the role of young Amy March, but the part went to Kirsten Dunst.
