In one of the most stunning news bulletins of the decade, Lindsey Buckingham has either been fired by Fleetwood Mac or left on his own, but he’s out. The band and management team will find another replacement but frankly how do you replace Lindsey?
Lindsey and Stevie were the 11th lineup of Fleetwood Mac, the most commercial in the band’s history, and most stable. Lindsey single-handedly held the band together during the emotionally difficult ‘Rumours’ days wrote “Go Your Own Way,” “Second Hand News” and wrote most of the lyrics of the LP. His ‘no pics’ lead stylings changed the way guitarists played and he was the emotional muse of the band.
No, Lindsey Buckingham cannot be replaced; he can only be revered and appreciated for his work. From his solo career to dominant influence in the Mac, he’s one in a million and will be severely missed.
