The Beatles film ‘Yellow Submarine’ is celebrating its 50th birthday this year, and coming back to select theaters in July. The film will feature the Beatles tunes “Hey Bulldog,” “Only a Northern Song,” “It’s All Too Much,” and “All Together Now.”
What makes this celebration unique is the remastering of the overall sound and technical advances that bring out the real genius of the original film. The film contains the voices of all four Beatles, including many of the band’s friends at the time. Ringo was excited at the time of the production of the film, as many of the songs were his lead vocals.
The film is often credited with taking animation to the next level, much like the music of the Fab Four. Oddly enough, the Beatles took more time writing and recording the Yellow Submarine LP than their debut album. Don’t miss the film reprise of the Beatles ‘Yellow Submarine’ this July.
