Movies That Celebrate a 50th Birthday This Year

Don’t look now, but some of your favorite films are celebrating their 50th birthday this year, and a few of these will surprise you. Here’s a brief list of the most popular movies that turn 50 this year…

‘Rosemary’s Baby’ starring Mia Farrow was released in 1968 and turned heads with its contreversal script directed by Roman Polanski, a man who would be haunted by demons for the rest of his life (his young wife Sharron Tate murdered by the Manson family) a year later.
‘Animal House’ directed by John Landis put himself, John Belushi, Harold Ramis and a young Karen Allen on the map.

‘Bullitt’ starring Steve McQueen, Robert Duvall and Jacqueline Bisset gave the world the best car chase ever filmed, with plenty of drama. “2001: A Space Odyssey,’ the original Charleston Heston ‘Planet of the Apes,’ (screenplay by Rod Serling) ‘The Odd Couple’ The Beatles ‘Yellow Submarine,’ and ‘Chitty Bang Bang,’ are all 50 this year.
