Rock and roll stars like to expand their resumes with cameos on film and TV. Let’s face it; Billy Idol appearing in the ‘Wedding Singer’ towards the end of the film really boosted his career. Now Cheap Tricks’ Robin Zander will make his Broadway debut in the production of ‘Rocktopia’ somewhere near the last week in April.
Rocktopia is an unusual musical of sorts, a real sell-out, having opened at the Broadway Theatre in New York City on March 20. The production will conclude April 29th, and it’s been a landing spot for other well-known rockers; Train’s Pat Monahan is the actor/musician Robin will replace that week. Robin will be busy the remainder of the year, touring the country with Poison and Pop Evil with Brett Michaels.
