As we talked about last week, the Big Ten Championship was happening a week earlier than usual but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t as exciting. It all went down over the weekend and Michigan came out victorious. They beat Purdue to win the tournament on Sunday.
The Wolverines were led by Moe Wagner’s 17 points, but it was his backup, Joe Teske, that led the way in the first half and scoring 14 points throughout the entire game. Purdue did a great job throughout the entire game but it was too tough to overcome Michigan’s efficiency on the offensive side of the ball, only turning over the ball five times. Congratulations to the Wolverines on winning two Big Ten championships in a row!
Other tournament championship winners include Loyola-Chicago, Lipscomb, Radford and Murray State. All of these teams including Michigan have a spot in the NCAA Tournament in just a few weeks.
