Bob Seger’s 2017 comeback took a turn off the highway with a medical issue (back) that caused him to cancel the remaining tour after 17 stops, but he’s still excited about the latest LP and his promise to return to the tour, details coming soon.
Bob released a video tribute recently, with lyrics, to the song which bears the same name of the album, “I Knew You When,” dedicated to his dear friend Glenn Frey. Yes, the single is called “I Knew You When.”
Here’s the Frey Seger connection; both grew up in suburban Detroit in the early 60s, with dreams of being rock and roll stars. Glenn sang background on many of Bob’s “System’ tunes, including “2 + 2 is On My Mind.” Bob actually got Glenn signed with his management team to help him on his way.
