The movie ‘The Black Panther’ opens tomorrow nationwide amidst rave reviews and Oscar buzz, as this Marvel Studio production breaks the mold with a nearly all African American cast. One of the bankable stars of the film is actress Lupita Nyong’o, no stranger to breaking the mold.
Lupita Nyong’o burst onto the scene in 2013 with her award-winning performance (Best Supporting Actress) as Patsey in the film ’12 Years a Slave.’ She’s appeared in Star Wars films. Star Wars television shows, and Star War video games over the last 3 years, building a resume that will definitely earn more awards along the way.
To say that she’s had an interesting life would be an understatement. Lupita was born in Mexico, raised in Kenya, went to school in the states, and moved to Hollywood in 2008 to work as a production assistant, waiting for her big break. Lupita Nyong’o shines in the film ‘The Black Panther’ and she alone is reason enough to see this beautiful movie.
