Michael Nesmith is a talented musician, although you may not have known that while watching the Monkees television show in the 60s. Now the music Michael recorded after leaving the bright television spotlight will be released, proving once and for all that he can shine with the best of them.
The Monkees were television pop stars in the 60s, breaking through the charts in the middle of the turbulent decade of progressive and underground rock, filled with acid trips and tragedy. Michael Nesmith of the Monkees was the most talented musician of the group, resenting in large part the show’s heavy hand in managing the group.
After Michael left the Monkees, he left with a chip on his shoulder, determined to show the world that he was a real artist, a genuine musician. Michael formed a band called the ‘First National Band,’ and the groups three albums; Loose Salute, Nevada Fighter, and Magnetic South are set to be released this March 29th.
