Barenaked Ladies Elected to Canadian Music Hall of Fame

Much like the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame is the most respected final resting place for deserving artists. We now hear that the Barenaked Ladies will be enshrined into the upcoming class, inducted during the 47th Annual Juno Awards on March 25.

The boys from the North hit the charts a few times here in the US, releasing their breakthrough song “If I Had $1,000,000” in 1992, and releasing their biggest chart-topper “One Week” in 1998. Other stars that have a place in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame include BTO, Sarah McLachlan, Burton Cumming of the Guess Who, Alanis Morissette, Loverboy, April Wine, Bryan Adams, John Kay of Steppenwolf, The Band, Rush, Joni Mitchell and Gordon Lightfoot.

BNL will also sing the Canadian National Anthem at this year’s NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 18th at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
