The upcoming Winter Olympics in South Korea are just a few weeks away, with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for February 9th. The US chances of gold are really good, so let’s share who we think the women to watch in this, keeping in mind that a few of the teams have yet to be solidified.
Mikaela Shiffrin is a favorite in the Alpine Skiing competition, winning Gold in Sochi in 2014 on slalom. She’s healthy and ready to repeat her success.
Lindsey Vonn is still working through a recent injury and blowback from her remarks about our current President but is a favorite as she earned the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Women’s Super G.
Ashley Wagner is 26 years old, generating a few rumors of being too old to compete, but she’s got fire in her heart and ready to win Gold in Figure Skating.
Finally, Maia Shibutani is teamed up with her brother Alex in the Ice Dancing competition, placing ninth, at their debut in Sochi a few years ago, and this year winning their third world championships medal.
