If you’re not happy with the dominance of men in Hollywood, or that Mark Wahlberg was paid $1 million dollars for re-shoots for ‘All the Money in the World,’ while co-star Michelle Williams was paid $1,000 (due to the ousting of Kevin Spacey and entrance of Christopher Plummer) then this will really tilt your teapot…
Mark Walhberg’s contract gave him co-star approval, thus when he expressed his dislike for Christopher Plummer being pitch by the studio, he said fine if he were paid the $1 million. Spacey quickly became the wrong man for the job amidst sexual misconduct allegations, forcing the studio to scramble for another actor. The entire Spacey footage had to be re-shot, thus the need for Mark and Michelle to come back in for pick-ups.
Director Ridley Scott had no choice but to adhere to Mark’s demands, but the incident simply places a bright spotlight on the inequalities of Hollywood. Sure, Mark’s the bankable star, but come on!
