Getting in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is considered the highest honor for a musician, but in England, there is one honor that rises above all others; being Knighted by the Queen! News leaked from Buckingham Palace this week that sole survivor of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb, and Beatle Ringo Starr have earned Knighthood with the proclamation being official within a few days.
Paul McCartney was honored with Knighthood in 1997, but Ringo never thought the opportunity to receive such an honor would come; needless to say, you could have knocked Ringo over with a feather upon hearing the news.
Others to be Knighted by the Queen are the late David Bowie and George Martin, Bono, Mick Jagger, Van Morrison, Rod Stewart, and Elton John.
