Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters this week, starring Mark Hamill, Benicio Del Toro, John Boyega and more; those are a few of the debonair men, but what about the women of Star Wars: The Last Jedi?
Carrie Fisher is the founding ‘mother’ of the franchise, glowing as Princess Leia in the original and throughout the additional films. Sadly, Carrie died after the post-production of the movie in 2016, with cast members dedicating this film to her.
Daisy Ridley plays the role of Rey, but is no stranger to the franchise, appearing in five earlier Star Wars films; most recently in the current ‘Murder on the Orient Express.’
If you think there’s a likeness with Billie Lourd and Carrie Fisher you would be right; Billie is Carrie’s daughter. This is the second Star Wars film she’s appeared in, earning notoriety as a member of the cast of ‘Scream Queens.’
Laura Dern is cast in the role of Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, and is no stranger to Hollywood fans. Her roles in Jurassic Park, Wild, Mask, Blue Velvet, October Sky, and other blockbusters keep her busy.
