Katy Perry Wins Law Suit

Do you remember the story a few years ago that dealt with Katy Perry, the Catholic Church of Los Angeles, and a convent? In a nutshell, Katy wanted to buy a home in Los Angeles that was once a Catholic convent.

Two Sisters of the ‘Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary’ quickly tried to sell the property to another buyer, entrepreneur Dana Hollister, but the Archbishop wanted to sell to Katy. The church’s stance was that the nuns did not have the authority to sell the convent. Everybody started to sue, and it looked like a Hollywood film script like the classic ‘It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.’

Well, this week a jury has found for Katy and the Catholic Church, proving guilt of malice with intent to interfere with the nearly $15 million dollar purchase, awarding both Katy and the Catholic church a total of $10 million dollars to be divided between the two plaintiffs. The convent is located in the trendy Los Feliz neighborhood.
