Thomas Rhett’s single “Unforgettable” has been on the country charts for seven weeks, but it’s in the top five right now; we’re betting it hit number one in no time flat (Sam Hunt, Kane Brown Featuring Lauren Alaina, and Dustin Lynch are the only artists in front of him).
Thomas Rhett’s music speaks for itself; a recent Grammy nomination, five top 10 singles and three Billboard tunes. This Thomas Rhett is just getting started. And he’s only 26.
Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. was born in Nashville; yes he’s the son of Country star Rhett Akins. He first began as most stars do, jumping on sage when his dad played and playing drums. His dad often times had famous singers over to the house. One young man would often come over to serve a helping hand; Blake Shelton was his English tutor as a child, but no word on how his grades were affected.
Thomas formed a punk-rock band while in high school called the ‘High Heeled Flip Flops,’ and confesses they were terrible. Eventually, Thomas began writing songs for stars like Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, and Lee Brice.
Rhett met a girl in the 1st grade, eventually marrying that first-grade classmate Lauren Greggory in 2012.
