This week the Hollywood elite took time off from being rich and famous to make a difference, staging a highly successful telethon for the victims of hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
The ‘Hand in Hand’ telethon raised over $14 million dollars, and leveraged the talents of Al Pacino, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Jon Stewart, Chris Paul, Diddy, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sofia Vergara, Reese Witherspoon, Demi Lovato, and Drake; answering phones, or simply appearing on camera asking viewers for their support.
The highlight of the night was Steve Wonder singing the classic “Lean On Me,” with Usher and country star Blake Shelton jumping in to help.
Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio met each other on the screen to ask for donations, while the show’s production swept across the country in live locations from the ‘Hand in Hand’ home base of Los Angeles, to live shots from New York and Nashville.
