Glenn Close is an American treasure, having performed on television, Broadway, local stage, and hundreds of films during her career. She’s earned Tony, Emmy, Golden Globe awards, and has the distinction of being nominated more times than anyone else for an Oscar without winning.
Glenn however, can add one more honor to her illustrious career; Glenn will receive a Golden Icon Award at the Zurich Film Festival this fall.
Glenn Close was born in Greenwich, CT in the late 40s, with parents who held prestigious jobs; her father a notable physician, her mother a socialite. Her big acting break came as playing mother to Robin Williams in ‘The World According to Garp,’ for which she was nominated for her first Oscar. Glenn starred in such iconic films like ‘Fatal Attraction,’ ‘The Natural,’ ‘The Big Chill,’ ‘Air Force One,’ ‘Hamlet,’ and ‘Reversal of Fortune.’
The Zurich Film Festival runs from September 28th to October 8th.
