Broadway Shows that Rocked

There may not be a better wedding couple than a great rock LP or concept, and the bright lights of Broadway. The best shows over the years have been ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ which gave us a few late 60s hits, ‘Hair’ also from the late 60s, ‘Tommy’ from the Who which literally provided “I’m Free” and “Pinball Wizard” as top charting songs.

‘Jersey Boy’s, the classic Broadway show that detailed Bob Crew and the Four Seasons rise to success, ‘Pink Floyd – The Wall’ in 1982 had a long and successful run, and in the 2000s there was ‘We Will Rock You’ from Queen. ‘Peggy Sue Got Married’ and ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ are more examples of the diversity of Broadway.

Currently, there are a few interesting shows; The ever popular ‘School of Rock’ inspired by the Jack Black movie, ‘Bandstand’ a great late 50s and early 60s Dick Clark homage, and ‘Rent’ which seems to capture the whole rags to riches rock and roll story.
