Bryce Harper is the favorite the National League MVP, but that doesn’t make him untouchable to other players. One pitcher who agrees with that logic is Hunter Strickland, reliever for the San Francisco Giants. These two know each other quite well and not in a good way for Strickland. Before Monday’s game the last time these two had faced off was 2014 when Harper hit two home runs off of him in the NLDS.
With that being said, the two squared off again Monday and it resulted in one huge fight. Strickland plunked Harper in the hip and Harper didn’t take too kindly to it. He charged the mound, threw his helmet and started throwing punches. The fight really heated up with baseball players everywhere grabbing and shoving those around them. The fight might be the most intense of the year and is worth a watch. Both Strickland and Harper were given suspensions with Strickland receiving a six-game suspension and Harper a four-game suspension.
