When Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes died in a tragic Jeep accident years ago, most critics and fans simply wrote the group off. What a surprise to hear that their first full album without Lisa is called ‘Way Back,’ and is due out very soon. Rumor has it that Snoop Dogg had a great deal of influence on this project.
The money needed to book the studio time and get the upcoming LP recorded and released came from an interesting social tool. Fans and contributors were allowed to contribute to ‘Kickstarter’ where the two remaining original members raised over $430,000! Those that contributed online received hats, T-Shirts, VIP Tickets and more. This album is the first with original remaining TLC members since 2003’s ‘T-Boz and Chilli.’
