Dorothy Marie Mengering has died at the age of 95. At first blush that name may not be familiar to you, but we knew her as the mother of television talk show host and comedian David Lettermen. Dorothy died of natural causes in her quaint home in Carmel, Indiana.
Dorothy enjoyed her unexpected popularity, enjoying the fame and fortune derived from her son David, star of the “Late Show with David Letterman.” David went out of his way to shine the spotlight on his mother, making her the show’s correspondent during the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, as well bringing her on his show for cameo appearances over the years.
In other sad news, Peter Hansen, known for his long run and incredible performance as character Lee Baldwin on the ABC soap “General Hospital,” has died at the age of 95.
‘Good Wife’ star and longtime character actor Alan Cumming announced this week that he’s planning on opening a club in New York City called ‘Club Cumming.’ The business model for the establishment will be live music, hot DJs, and plenty of fun after midnight.
