The 2017 Induction ceremony at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is coming up at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, and we’re thrilled to hear that Jon Anderson, the co-founder of Yes, has agreed to step on stage with Bill Bruford, Tony Kaye, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe and Alan White to perform as one iconic band.
Peter Banks is the original member that is credited with coming up with the name for the band ‘Yes.’ They needed a new name for a poster (their current name of ‘Mabel Greer’s Toyshop’ was too lengthy for the poster) so Tony suggested the name of ‘Yes.’ Well, everyone hated it (they were pressed for a printing deadline), but they went along, with the understanding they would come up with a better name later.
With so many lineup changes, did you know that Tony is only member to have been on every single album? Who is going to introduce and welcome ‘Yes’ to the Hall? Why, it’s none other than Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush, as each has told fans over the years that it was Yes that inspired them in the first place.
