The NBA is now filled with many stats telling you just about everything you could ever imagine. There are three stats that have been kept since the beginning though and that would be points, rebounds and assists. There is only one player in NBA history to record double figures in each of those three stats in the same year and that would be Oscar Robertson. Don’t look now but there is one player that is currently doing that this season.
It should come as no surprise that Russell Westbrook is averaging 31.7 points, 10 assists and 10.6 rebounds per game. Can Westbrook make history this season? Well, he’s been on this pace the entire season, averaging a triple double in each of the first three months. Westbrook’s best month came in February where he averaged 33.4 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds.
Russell Westbrook is on his way to joining the record books as the second player ever to average a triple double in a season.
