The movie ‘La La Land’ staring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone is NOT the Movie of the Year, in spite of what you may seem to think!
By the way, we loved his supporting actor, played by singing sensation John Legend. The movie is terrific because it has a great script, wonderful actors – but memorable music which we think makes the movie. What are other clear examples of movies that became iconic as a result of the music?
“Against All Odds” was a hit single for solo artist Phil Collins in the movie of the same name, and both the song and movie have stood the test of time. Rachel Ward was stunning and Jeff Bridges thrilling in this dark drama.
Kenny Loggins made it big in the movie “Footloose,” the 1984 classic that starred Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, the late Chris Penn and John Lithgow. Heart’s Ann Wilson and Loverboy’s Mike Reno scored with “Almost Paradise” in the Kevin Bacon classic.
The movie “Boogie Nights” starring Mark Wahlberg was rich with songs from the group War, Walter Egan, Marvin Gaye, Three Dog Night, Elvin Bishop and Night Ranger.
