Rick Derringer was arrested a few weeks ago in the Atlanta airport for having a gun in his belongings. Rick ultimately agreed to pay a fine and promised not to travel with a handgun again.
Born Ricky Dean Zehringer in August of 1947, Rick is a Grammy award winning producer, artist, and overall creative genius. Do you remember the McCoys and “Hang On Sloopy”? Yup, Rick, who was the lead singer for the McCoys at the time, wrote the song, and eventually exploded onto the bigger stage as the lead singer and writer of other notable sings as “Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo.”
Did you know that Rick also has worked with Steely Dan, both Winter Brothers, and even “Weird Al” Yankovic? In the mid-2000s Rick became more vocal of his Christianity, steering his career to gospel and religious spirited music.
