Kelly Clarkson, the first American Idol winner of 2002, recording star, and hardest working woman is a powerful woman who knows how to strike a healthy balance between career and motherhood.
Kelly was born on April 24, 1982 in Ft. Worth, TX to a modest family; her mother a third grade teacher and father engineer. Kelly sang in the school choir, but her big break was winning the inaugural American Idol competition.
Kelly has earned three Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, three MTV Music Awards and has sold over 25 million albums sales worldwide. Kelly dreamed about be growing up to be a marine biologist until the movie ‘Jaws.’ She was so frightened she changed her mind. She does like animals however, as she owns a horse that is named Unicorn.
Here are two more fun facts; Kelly worked as a waitress before getting on American Idol, and in 2002 she made a walk on cameo role in the TV show ‘Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.’
