Rock and Roll Alphabet – Fleetwood Mac

The Rock and Roll Alphabet continues with a look at one of the greatest bands ever formed; Fleetwood Mac. Who knows what Fleetwood Mac would have sounded liked if Peter Green or Bob Welch as chosen to stay, never opening the door for Lindsey and Stevie?

Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, John and Christine McVie, and Lindsey Buckingham are music royalty, selling nearly 200 million records during their time together, producing arguably the greatest rock album of all time, the self-titled 1975 LP. The LP Rumours in 1977 broke sales and airplay records as well, giving fans the songs “Dreams,” “Don’t Stop,” and “You Make Loving Fun.”

Did you know the band was barely speaking to each other during the making of the 1975 LP? Christine McVie’s maiden name was ‘Perfect’ no really Perfect.

Mick stopped in a the famous Sound City recording studio, asking to hear the most recent album recorded there – Lindsay and Stevie’s ‘Buckingham/Nicks’ album. He was blown away and tracked them down. He asked only Lindsey to join the band, but Buckingham demanded Stevie be part of the deal.
