Last week we talked about Blink-182 and their quest for their first Grammy. Well, we can never get enough of this band and have decided to talk about them more today… Although they were primarily known as just ‘Blink’ in 1992 when they began in Poway, CA, Blink 182 has had a magnificent career thus far.
As mentioned above they began recording and touring as Blink, but were sued by an Irish band with the same name, so they were forced to change their legal name. The most popular rumor about where 182 came from is the number of times the ‘F’ word is heard in the band’s favorite movie ‘Scarface.’
Up until recently Blink 182 band member Mark Hoppus was the only member without a tattoo; he now has wrist tattoos of his wife and daughters name.
Like most band member shakeups, original drummer Scott Raynor was thrown out of the band for his drinking. Tom DeLonge also was a long-time member of the band before exiting as well.
Finally, Blink-182 members Matt, Mark and Travis briefly appeared in the film ‘American Pie’ with cameo roles.
