The Band Behind Bruce Springstreen’s Boss

Bruce Springsteen, aka the ‘Boss,’ is a the talented singer songwriter that took the 70s by storm, releasing the iconic LP “Born to Run” in 1975, selling millions. Bruce was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. the E Street members inducted in 2014. These brothers from the Jersey shore paid their dues touring and forming the backbone of the early songs for Bruce, yet have all had successful solo careers over the years.

Clarence Clemons, Vini Lopez, David Sancious, Danny Federici, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan, Max Weinberg, Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren and Patti Scialfa were the significant members of the E Street Band, suffering through the early days with Bruce. In the beginning David’s mother let the band practice in her garage in Belmar NJ, at the corner of E Street and 10th Avenue.

Max Weinberg had a long stint as the drummer for the Late Night with Conan O’Brien band, while Stevie Van Zandt had a long run with his own band, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. He also appeared in a reoccurring role in the HBO ‘Sopranos’ series.

Daniel Paul “Danny” Federici and ‘The Big Man’ Clarence Clemmons have passed away over the years, while Bruce would wait until his divorce from actress Julianne Phillips before marrying Patti in 1989.
