Amy Lee of Evanescence Turns 35

Amy Lee is one of the best female musicians in the rock world and this week she turns a year older. This star from the band Evanescence turned 35 on Tuesday, which means she’s done plenty in the music world already right? Right!

Amy has won two of her seven Grammy nominations, mainly with all of them revolving around her band’s hard rock music. At that award show she won Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance, both in the year 2004.

Earlier this year, she released an album titled “Recover, Vol. 1.” The album had just four songs on it and they were all covers, but we loved it. She covered songs from U2, Led Zeppelin, Portishead and Chris Isaak on that album.

As a member of Evanescence, she has been a part of three studio albums. All three have been wildly successful, with each reaching number one on at least one chart. Their most successful album must be “Fallen,” which reached number three in the United States and the top spot in Canada, the UK, Australia and Austria.
