Kirk Douglas Turns 100

Kirk Douglas, also known as Issur Danielovitch, turned 100 this past Friday. Douglas is one of our national treasures, having acted in hundreds of films, earning every honor imaginable. We know him as Kirk Douglas, born December 9th, 1916 in Amsterdam New York. Here are our favorite Kirk Douglas films…

1.) Spartacus
2.) Seven Days In May
3.) 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
4.) Out of the Past
5.) Lonely Are the Brave
6.) Gunfight at the OK Corral

Did you know that Kirk Douglas was an activist during the dark days of America, working closely with exiled Hollywood writer Dalton Trumbo, giving the writer public credit for Spartacus in the middle of the Blacklist era? Kirk has been nominated for many Oscars during his prolific acting career, but has never won a competitive Oscar. It was Lauren Bacall that gave Kirk the inspiration and support to start his acting career.
